Report: Golden Knights hiring Cassidy as head coach
by Josh Wegman from on (#60C24)
The Vegas Golden Knights are set to hire former Boston Bruins bench boss Bruce Cassidy as their next head coach, according to ESPN's Kevin Weekes.
Cassidy led the Bruins to the postseason in all six years at the helm, including a trip to the Stanley Cup Final in 2019. The 57-year-old won the Jack Adams Award as coach of the year in 2019-20, and he ranks 12th all-time in points percentage among coaches with at least 82 games.
The Golden Knights fired Peter DeBoer as head coach on May 16 after missing the playoffs for the first time in franchise history.
