'The coroner has ordered a post mortem': Burlington man, 91, dead after backyard pool incident
Halton Regional Police are investigating an incident in a backyard pool in Burlington that left a 91-year-old man dead.
The incident occurred around 2:10 p.m. outside a home on Ayr Place when Halton police responded for a reported drowning in a backyard pool.
The man was reportedly found floating in the pool without vital signs, a witness said.
"Life saving measures were attempted by fire and EMS however the victim was sadly pronounced deceased," Halton police Const. Steve Elms said. "Our officers did attend the scene to initiate the investigation. The Coroner has ordered a post mortem. There are no further details we can provide at this time."
Elms did say the man is a 91-year-old from Burlington but police have yet to confirm the incident was indeed a drowning.
