Proposal designed to make it easier for cigarette smokers to quit and prevent young people becoming regular smokers
The Biden administration plans to propose a rule to establish a maximum nicotine level in cigarettes and other finished tobacco products in an attempt to make them less addictive, the White House Budget Office said Tuesday.
The rule, expected in May 2023, would be designed with the goal of making it easier for tobacco users to quit and help prevent young people from becoming regular smokers, according to a document released by the White House Budget Office.
