Veteran pass-rusher Justin Houston is returning to the Baltimore Ravens on a one-year deal, the team announced Thursday.

Houston spent the 2021 campaign with the Ravens and suited up for 15 games. He recorded a team-high 17 quarterback hits and 4.5 sacks, third most on the club.

His return was necessary for a Baltimore pass-rush unit that is facing depth concerns. Tyus Bowser, who led the club in sacks last season with seven, and second-round rookie David Ojabo are both recovering from torn Achilles.

Baltimore will also look to generate pressure from the likes of veteran Calais Campbell and 2021 first-round pick Odafe Oweh, among others.

Houston, 33, began his career with the Kansas City Chiefs and then enjoyed a two-year stay with the Indianapolis Colts before joining Baltimore. He's made four Pro Bowls, all as a member of the Chiefs, and has notched 102 career sacks. His best year came in 2014 when he put up a league-high 22 sacks.
