Lawyer says South Carolina to pursue murder charges against Alex Murdaugh

Prominent state attorney not yet charged in connection with deaths of wife Maggie, 52, and son Paul, 22, in June last year

A lawyer for the disgraced South Carolina attorney Alex Murdaugh has said investigators have indicated they intend to pursue murder charges against him for the deaths of his wife and son, who were shot outside their home more than a year ago.

Jim Griffin said in a statement the South Carolina law enforcement division told Murdaugh family members they plan to seek indictments from a grand jury later this week.
