The San Jose Sharks signed forward Oskar Lindblom to a two-year contract, the team announced Wednesday.

The deal is worth $2.5 million per season, reports TSN's Pierre LeBrun.

Lindblom had the final year of his contract bought out by the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday. He was owed $3 million on the deal.

The 25-year-old was drafted by the Flyers in the fifth round of the 2014 draft. His career was put on hold in 2019 after being diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma - a form of blood cancer - but he worked his way back into Philadelphia's lineup and won the Masterton Trophy for dedication to the sport in 2021.

Lindblom has notched 97 points in 263 career games.
