The Chicago Blackhawks inked forward Colin Blackwell to a two-year deal with an average annual value of $1.2 million, the team announced Wednesday.

Blackwell, 29, spent the 2021-22 season with the Seattle Kraken and Toronto Maple Leafs.

He logged eight goals and nine assists in 39 contests with the NHL's newest franchise, but his production took a bit of a hit once he was traded to the Maple Leafs before the deadline.

All in all, he registered 10 goals and 10 assists in 58 games in the 2021-22 season while averaging almost 12 minutes per contest. Blackwell also chipped in with a pair of shorthanded goals.

He added a goal and an assist in seven playoff games with Toronto.

Selected by the San Jose Sharks in the seventh round of the 2011 draft, Blackwell has 52 points in 138 career games.
