The Washington Capitals acquired winger Connor Brown from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for a second-round draft pick in 2024, the teams announced.

Brown, 28, has one year remaining on his contract at a cap hit of $3.6 million before hitting unrestricted free agency next season. He's been an effective middle-six player and penalty killer for much of his career.

Connor Brown, acquired by WSH, is a useful top six winger who's strong at carrying and passing the puck. He's also dangerous short-handed, although his team does tend to give up extra chances against as a result. #AllCaps pic.twitter.com/TB5817dNTb

The winger was a sixth-round pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2012. He spent the first four years of his career with the organization before it dealt him to Ottawa ahead of the 2019-20 campaign. He has 216 points in 444 NHL games.
