'Fired 5 or 6 shots': Hamilton man arrested in Burlington restaurant shooting
A 23-year-old Hamilton man is facing multiple charges in connection with a Saturday July 9 incident in which shots were fired outside a Burlington bar.
The incident took place at the Port House Social Bar and Kitchen at 2020 Lakeshore Rd. At 1:50 a.m. a group of people got into an argument in the bar's parking lot, according to police.
Police allege that at some point during this altercation a man pulled out a handgun and "fired five or six shots in the air."
Police said the individual then fled the scene in a vehicle.
No one was injured during the incident.
An investigation by the Burlington Criminal Investigations Bureau resulted in a search warrant being executed at a Hamilton residence on Friday, July 15 and one arrest being made.
At 23-year-old man from Hamilton has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, careless use of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
The firearm used during this incident has not been recovered.
