The Dallas Cowboys are the latest NFL team to unveil an alternate helmet for the 2022 season.

Dallas announced Thursday it'll wear its throwback helmets - the white helmet with a single navy star - along with the throwback classic uniforms during the team's Thanksgiving Day game against the New York Giants on Nov. 24.

The white helmet will be paired with the classic navy jerseys with white sleeves and shoulders.

"We're beyond excited to bring back our throwback white helmets this season," Cowboys chief brand officer Charlotte Jones said in a statement. "The white helmet, along with the throwback uniforms honoring our teams from the 1960s, have long been a fan favorite, and we're thrilled to bring back the tradition of wearing those helmets and uniforms on Thanksgiving Day once again."

This will be the first time since 2012 that the Cowboys wear their throwback helmets on Thanksgiving. The NFL updated its policy last season to allow teams to wear an alternate color helmet during games. The league banned the use of a second helmet in 2013 over player safety concerns.

The Cowboys previously honored their original uniform in Thanksgiving games each year from 2004-12, wearing a version of the original white helmet with the navy and white jersey with navy stars on the shoulders.

Dallas hopes that the return of its throwback unis will bring luck to the Cowboys as they look to snap a three-game losing streak on Thanksgiving Day.
