Heat alert issued for Hamilton and most of southern Ontario Wednesday
Another summer scorcher is expected to hit Hamilton with temperatures feeling like up to 43 C on Wednesday.
Environment Canada issued a special weather statement early Wednesday morning, saying daytime temperatures of 31 to 33 C, feeling like 41 to 43 C with the humidex, are expected.
Expect a mix of sun and cloud Wednesday with a 30 per cent chance of thunderstorm late in the afternoon.
An advisory is issued by the national weather service if the humidex reaches 40 C or the temperature gets above 30 C.
The heat will remain in the area overnight with temperatures dropping to 20 C.
Relief from the extreme temperatures is expected as soon as Thursday when a cold front moves through the area, the weather service says.
