So long, Sweet Beets: Vegan eatery to close its doors

Sweet Beets will be closing its doors later this month.

The vegan eatery announced its impending closure on July 27 through a post on social media, noting they were unable to secure a new lease at our current location," leading them to decide that it was time to start the next chapter."

The restaurant, which is nestled among the shops on Ottawa Street North, thanked its customers and expressed gratitude for the connections they made in the community over their years in business.

Your support has meant the world to us," read the post. We are sad that it's time to say goodbye."

The eatery was known for its burgers, pizzas, patties, ice cream and desserts - all of which were vegan and nut-free.

Their last day open is Aug. 18, according to the post.
