Police investigating shooting in central Hamilton
Hamilton police are investigating a shooting that happened overnight Tuesday.
Police say that a resident heard what they thought were gunshots in the area of Steven and Nightingale streets in central Hamilton around 2:45 a.m.
Residents of the area heard both male and female voices outside. It sounded like there was an argument ensuing prior to the shots being fired," said Const. Indy Bharaj.
Bharaj said police are not disclosing the number of bullets, but confirmed multiple shots were fired."
There were ... bullets that went into a vehicle that was in the area. It has since been towed out of the area for further examination," Bharaj said.
No injuries were reported, police added.
Investigators are asking residents and anyone who may have been driving in the area between 2 and 3 a.m. to review surveillance or dash cameras.
There have been at least 23 shootings reported to police in Hamilton this year.
