As the sun streams down and summer limps along, the end of patio season is a twinkle on the horizon.

Make the most with what's left.

So, the next time you're wandering the city with your pooch, thirst building, consider stopping in and grabbing at pint with your pet at one of these local spots.

The Argyle

A day on Ottawa Street could only be complete with a coffee or cold beverage, basking in the afternoon glow while supporting a delightful local business. Unique to this establishment, but not as a concept abroad, you can bring your own food to munch on while sipping and seeing what entertainment the street has to offer.

Enjoy a delicious cocktail, or mocktail, and be amazed at the interior decor - a must-see for golf fanatics.

They also have an Instagram account dedicated to the pups and pooches that visit: Dogs of the Argyle.

Coach and Lantern

Snuggled into Ancaster's Wilson Street beneath twinkle lights, this pub's patio welcomes the furry and the burly. Pop-in on a weekend night and you could be blessed with some live entertainment, as long as that's OK with Fido. But if trivia's more your thing, check the place out on a Monday evening.

Honourable Mention: Munchies Coffee and Barkery

It's not a patio, but rather a whole coffee house on the Mountain dedicated to pups and people. It's been around since 2009 and was the first ever cafe and restaurant in Canada that you could bring your pooch to. They've got food for humans and non-humans alike.

Did you know?

If you prefer to imbibe the devil's lettuce, most cannabis dispensaries are dog-friendly. GreenHouse Cannabis on the Mountain and Treehouse Cannabis Company in the west end are just two that are always happy to see a fuzzy face.

So, the next time you're picking up a pre-roll for a long walk, bring your pooch with you.
