Ticket-free workshops and exhibits during Supercrawl weekend held by Workers Arts and Heritage Centre
Coming up on Sept. 9, 10 and 11, Supercrawl will take over James Street North with musical and visual performances, fashion showcases, theatre, readings and talks.
The Workers Arts and Heritage Centre, a community museum that celebrates the history of workers and labour is offering some great exhibits for the upcoming festival weekend.
The new Main Gallery Exhibition, The Future of Work: Letters from the Land and Water will be open from Aug. 31. The exhibition is part one of a three-part series presented by WAHC in collaboration with the Art Gallery of Burlington.
WAHC is also inviting folks to check out the part two of the series, The Future of Work: Parallel Economies which opens at the AGB on Aug. 26.
In connection with the exhibition, Floetry: a workshop for water and words will take place on Saturday, Sept. 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., facilitated by Anishnaabekwe author Danielle Boissoneau.
The free and interactive workshop will explore the beauty of the natural world and identify the responsibilities of protecting it.
Participants will meet at WAHC and walk to the Hamilton Harbour to reflect on integrating artistic practices with a sustainable future.
The Workers Arts and Heritage Centre is located on 51 Stuart St. WAHC is always free to visitors and is open from Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4.p.m. and on Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
