QEW lane and ramp closures in Burlington to start tonight

Some significant closures are coming to Oakville and Burlington on the QEW.

The Ministry of Transportation is warning drivers to potentially "find another route" as the closures will be in place for several hours at a time and are expected to disrupt traffic.

Road maintenance on the Toronto-bound QEW starting at Bronte Road and stretching across Oakville will lead to rotating lane closures Aug. 30-Sept. 2 between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Meanwhile, construction on the Toronto-bound QEW between Brant Street in Burlington and Highway 403 in Oakville will trigger lane closures from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Aug. 30 to Sept. 2.

Finally, the on-ramp to the eastbound QEW at Northshore Boulevard in Burlington will be closed between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. Aug. 30-31 due to construction.

Driver Steve Bakker was stuck in the construction closure at night earlier this week and advised drivers to "leave early."
