The words just kept on coming for Petar Jovanovic, who captured the top prize of $250,000 with his Instant Crossword scratch ticket.

A regular lottery player for 45 years, Jovanovich played his ticket while waiting in his car for his wife.

I saw I had 10 then 11 words - I couldn't believe it," he said in an Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation news release. I went into the store to use the ticket checker and when I saw the Big Winner screen appear, I was shocked. My hair felt like it was standing straight up!"

The Ancaster father and grandfather waited a day before sharing the news with his family. My wife didn't believe me. I even brought her into the store to validate the ticket, but she still didn't believe me," Jovanovich added in the release.

Jovanovich plans to share the money with his family, make investments and purchase more lottery tickets.

His winning ticket was purchased at King Convenience and Food Mart on King Street in Stoney Creek.
