Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin could be sidelined for a few weeks after he suffered a hamstring strain in Sunday's win over the Dallas Cowboys, a source told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

There's optimism the ailment isn't serious, Pelissero adds.

The 26-year-old was playing in his first game since tearing his ACL and MCL last December. There's no concern regarding the health of Godwin's knee following his latest setback, Pelissero reports.

Godwin exited Tampa Bay's season opener after attempting to catch a low pass from Tom Brady in the second quarter. He finished with three receptions for 35 yards, including a 24-yard catch.

"I don't think it's as serious as we thought it was, but it all depends on how his treatment goes and how he heels," said head coach Todd Bowles. "Hopefully we'll have him back sooner than later."

The Philadelphia native signed a three-year $60-million extension with Tampa Bay in March. Despite his injury last season, Godwin surpassed 1,000 yards receiving for the second time in his career.

If Godwin misses an extended period, the Buccaneers will lean on a receiving group that includes Jaelon Darden and Breshad Perriman behind Mike Evans and Julio Jones.
