Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2022 – winning images

Some of the winning images from the Royal Observatory Greenwich's 14^th Astronomy Photographer of the Year competition. The selection includes the winning image by Gerald Rhemann, Disconnection Event, a rare photograph of a piece of Comet Leonard's gas tail being disconnected and carried away by the solar wind

• The images will be on display as part of an exhibition, which opens at the National Maritime Museum on Saturday 17 September
