Tractor trailer rollover on 403 westbound at Waterdown Road creating major traffic issues

A tractor-trailer rollover on the westbound Highway 403 in Burlington has triggered a major closure and, with it, major traffic backups.

The crash, which occurred around 10:30 p.m. Monday (Oct. 3) on the westbound Highway 403 near Waterdown Road has now left two lanes closed on the westbound portion of the highway. Two eastbound lanes were closed for some time as well, but those have since re-opened.

Drivers are reporting heavy traffic approaching the Waterdown Road off-ramp while @lenestam is reporting a "heavy back-up" and telling drivers to use Plains Road as an alternate.

OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt told Inside Halton there are no injuries and crews hope to have the road re-opened sometime in the afternoon.
