OBJ unhappy with Rams' offer, but McVay expects team to keep negotiating

Free agent Odell Beckham Jr. expressed his dissatisfaction with his most recent contract offer from the Los Angeles Rams, but head coach Sean McVay believes the team isn't done negotiating with the star wide receiver.

"I love Odell," McVay told reporters Wednesday. "We have constant dialogue. He also knows that certainly I don't think that's the last (offer) that would come from us. I'm not familiar with what it is. He knows how we feel about him. We've got a little bit of time."

McVay added, "But (I) love Odell. Nothing but good things coming from me."

Beckham tweeted about negotiations earlier Wednesday, writing that he knew his worth and the Rams' offer "isn't reflective of that."

He joined the Rams after the Cleveland Browns released him last season and had 27 receptions for 305 yards and five touchdowns in seven games. Beckham played a key role in the Rams getting to and winning the Super Bowl against the Cincinnati Bengals.

However, the 29-year-old tore his ACL in the Super Bowl, and his return timeline is uncertain. The Rams and Beckham have been in contact for months. In June, the team's chief operating officer said the Rams were "optimistic" they would eventually reach an agreement, but he noted there was little urgency because of Beckham's injury.
