Woman, 22, dead and two others injured after Wilmot crash
WILMOT - A 22-year-old driver is dead and two others are injured after a serious crash on Saturday.
At around 7:35 p.m., emergency services were called to the Oxford Road 5 and Punkeydoodles Avenue area for multiple reports of the collision.
Waterloo Regional Police found that two vehicles, a black Ford and a white Nissan has crashed in the intersection.
The driver of the Nissan, a 22-year-old Wilmot Township woman died at the scene.
Paramedics took the passenger in the vehicle, a 16-year-old Wilmot Township female, to an out-of-region hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Paramedics also took the driver of the Ford, a 19-year-old Oakville male, to an out-of-region hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Traffic Services Unit is investigating.
Police closed the intersection for the investigation. The roads have since reopened.
