Jets' Hall out for season with torn ACL

New York Jets rookie running back Breece Hall is out for the season after tests confirmed he tore his ACL in Sunday's 16-9 win over the Denver Broncos, head coach Robert Saleh announced Monday.

Hall also suffered damage to his meniscus, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Saleh told reporters after the Week 7 contest that the team feared the running back had injured his ACL, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN. Saleh said Hall's initial diagnosis was "not good."

The No. 36 overall pick was carted to the locker room from the sideline after being tackled awkwardly in the second quarter and was quickly ruled out. Trainers briefly attended to Hall while he stayed down before helping him off the field.

Hall recorded four carries for 72 yards and a touchdown in the contest.

The 21-year-old entered Week 7 as the Jets' leading rusher with 391 yards and three touchdowns. He was also third on the team in receiving yards with 218.

Second-year pro Michael Carter will take over the lead role in New York's backfield in Hall's absence.
