A weather alert has been issued by Environment Canada and it affects Oakville and Burlington.

The Frost Advisory was issued Thursday morning (Oct. 27) and warns temperatures will dip below the freezing mark and could result in "patchy frost" early Friday (Oct. 28).

"Frost may damage some crops in frost-prone areas," the advisory states. "Cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas. Take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees."

Frost advisories are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops.

"This is not good," Bronte resident Chan Zou said Thursday. "It's getting cold out."
