Major League Rugby announces new team in Chicago after LA and Austin exit

US professional men's rugby union league heads for sixth season after losing teams in California and Texas

Major League Rugby, the US professional men's rugby union competition, has announced that its new 12th team next year will be based in Chicago.

Last week, MLR said teams in Los Angeles and Austin would not play in 2023, the sixth season of competition, after being disqualified for alleged back-office misconduct just before the playoffs in 2022.
