Chargers' Allen won't face Falcons after injury setback
The Los Angeles Chargers can't catch a break.
Los Angeles ruled out star wide receiver Keenan Allen for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons due to a hamstring injury, according to Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.
Allen played in Week 7 after missing five games but had a setback with his injured hamstring while on a bye last week. The five-time Pro Bowler has caught only six passes for 77 yards in two appearances this year.
Mike Williams, who leads the Chargers with 495 yards, won't play Sunday due to an ankle injury. He's reportedly expected to miss at least four weeks after suffering a high ankle sprain in Week 7.
Los Angeles might also miss receiver DeAndre Carter, who was added to the injury report Friday with an illness.
The Chargers also roster wideouts Joshua Palmer, Michael Bandy, and Jason Moore, as well as tight end Gerald Everett.
The team's issues at wide receiver should increase Austin Ekeler's workload. The versatile running back, who leads L.A. with 53 receptions this season, was removed from the injury report Friday and is expected to play after an abdomen injury limited him at practice Thursday.
