Report: Raiders placing Waller, Renfrow on IR
The Las Vegas Raiders are placing tight end Darren Waller and wide receiver Hunter Renfrow on injured reserve, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Waller recently aggravated a hamstring injury, Schefter adds. He's been dealing with the ailment for most of the season. Renfrow, meanwhile, is reportedly nursing an oblique injury.
Losing Waller and Renfrow for multiple weeks is a big blow to the Raiders, who dropped to 2-6 after blowing a 17-point lead in their loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 9. Players placed on injured reserve must remain sidelined for at least four weeks.
Renfrow, who also missed time earlier this season after entering the concussion protocol, has recorded 192 yards on 21 receptions in 2022.
It's been a frustrating 2022 campaign for the 30-year-old Waller, who's appeared in only five games. He's caught 16 passes for 175 yards and one touchdown. A Pro Bowler in 2019, he missed six games due to injury last year.
With Waller sidelined, Foster Moreau could get a bigger workload at tight end. Moreau has recorded 17 receptions for 175 yards and no touchdowns this season while being targeted 27 times, the most among Las Vegas tight ends. The team also rosters Jesper Horsted.
The Raiders' wide receiver depth chart features Davante Adams and Mack Hollins, among others.
Las Vegas hosts the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
