Dinosaurs may have gone extinct some 65 million years ago, but they continue to fascinate us.

Perhaps it's because we have no direct link to them; humans came long after they perished. Perhaps it's because, with few exceptions, there are no animals on Earth that resemble them.

Whatever the case, we marvel at their size, their ferocity, and their physical characteristics.

And this weekend, visitors to Jurassic Quest at the Hamilton Convention Centre can step back in time and experience dinosaurs for themselves.

A variety of species, from velociraptors, to stegosaurus, to the mighty Tyrannosaurus rex, have come to life - sort of.

The animatronic animals have been recreated life-sized, giving kids and parents alike a humbling sense of scale as they tour the displays.

Along with the dinosaurs, there are baby dinos, crafts, and other activities for kids to enjoy.

Admission is limited; tickets are available online or at the door if the time slot has not already been filled. For more info, go to jurassicquest.ca.
