A driver is facing impaired driving charges in connection with a traffic stop in a Burlington neighbourhood.
Police allege the driver had a breathalyzer reading three times the legal limit of alcohol allowed in the system when they were pulled over on Fairview Street at Walkers Line just after 3 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 22).
"School time," Halton police said in a tweet.
Schools in the area have dismissal times of 2:40 p.m. and 3 p.m.
The stop comes as Halton police are increasing enforcement and looking for suspected impaired drivers with the World Cup and the festive season in full swing.
The driver has been charged with excessive blood alcohol.
"Don't drive impaired, and don't let your friends," Halton police said in a tweet.
