Damaging winds expected to hit Hamilton
Damaging winds up to 90 kilometres per hour are expected to hit Hamilton.
Environment Canada issued a special weather statement warning of strong westerly winds gusting from 70 to 80 km/hour Wednesday morning.
Strong winds may toss loose objects and cause tree branches to break. Isolated utility outages may occur," says the weather service.
Stronger gusts of 90 km/hour can be expected near the eastern shores of the Great Lakes, the service adds.
A strong cold front is moving into the area bringing with it winds and temperatures below zero sometime around noon. The wind chill Wednesday afternoon is expected to feel like -10 C.
Flurries are expected Wednesday afternoon and overnight.
Thursday's daytime high is 1 C.
The winds are expected to diminish Wednesday night.
