Fiery West Lincoln crash claims life of 18-year-old motorist

A teenaged motorist has died following a single-vehicle crash in West Lincoln.

Emergency crews received a 911 call shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday.

Niagara Regional Police, with Niagara Emergency Medical Services paramedics and West Lincoln Fire Services, attended the scene in the area of Caistor Gainsborough Townline Road and Sixteen Road.

Police said initial investigation determined a pickup truck had left the roadway, struck a tree and erupted into flames.

The driver, an 18-year-old man from West Lincoln, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Circumstances relating to the collision remain under investigation by police.
