Hamilton woman, 40, arrested in relation to Ferguson Avenue homicide
A 40-year-old woman was arrested and charged on Tuesday for allegedly helping those accused of killing a woman in her Ferguson Avenue apartment last month.
Danielle Strauss's body was discovered in her home around 11 a.m. on Nov. 10 by the building's superintendent, who entered her unit for a scheduled pest-control appointment.
Hamilton police believed the 38-year-old died between late Nov. 6 and early Nov. 7 - days before her body was found.
The woman arrested on Tuesday has been charged with accessory after the fact in relation to the Strauss homicide, Hamilton police said in a release. She will be making a brief court appearance on Wednesday morning at the John Sopinka Courthouse.
On Nov. 29, Hamilton police charged two teens - aged 15 and 16 - with second-degree murder in the case. They are still seeking another 16-year-old boy on charges of second-degree murder.
Police said they cannot reveal the 40-year-old woman's identity because it could lead to revealing the identity of one of the youths facing charges.
