Miller out for season after undergoing surgery for torn ACL
Buffalo Bills pass-rusher Von Miller will miss the remainder of the season after exploratory surgery revealed he had a torn ACL that needed to be repaired, head coach Sean McDermott announced Wednesday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The Bills placed Miller on injured reserve last week with the hope he could return for the final few weeks of the season and the playoffs.
Details on Von Miller's surgery:

-- MRI and other images did not adequately show a torn ACL.
-- Original plan for surgery was to reposition the lateral meniscus that had moved into another channel, while also cleaning up cartilage damage.
-- During surgery, they found ACL torn.
Miller was in good spirits during a video message posted on Twitter.

It's the second time Miller has torn an ACL in his NFL career after he was lost for the season in 2013 while playing for the Denver Broncos. Miller bounced back from the injury the following year, earning 14 sacks and a second-team All-Pro nod.
Miller was the prized free-agent addition of the Bills' offseason, signing a six-year, $120-million deal to potentially be the final piece of the club's Super Bowl-caliber roster.
The 33-year-old had lived up to expectations, racking up team highs in sacks (eight) and quarterback hits (12) in 11 appearances.
Gregory Rousseau, A.J. Epenesa, Boogie Basham, and Shaq Lawson will lead the Bills' pass-rushing group for the rest of the campaign.
