Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay is "leaning toward" quarterback Baker Mayfield being active for Thursday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders, according to Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times.

McVay acknowledged Wednesday it'd be unprecedented for Mayfield, whom the Rams claimed off waivers Tuesday following his release from the Carolina Panthers, to be ready to play so soon.

John Wolford, who started last Sunday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks, is questionable after aggravating a neck injury, added McVay, according to Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic.

The Rams want to test Wolford in pregame workouts before deciding who will play against the Raiders, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. If Wolford can't go, Mayfield reportedly would be in line to start.

Bryce Perkins started in Week 11 with Wolford sidelined and Matthew Stafford likely out for the season with a neck injury.

Additionally, the reigning Super Bowl champions won't have star defensive tackle Aaron Donald for a second straight week due to an ankle injury.
