Patriots' Stevenson suffers ankle injury in win over Cardinals

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson suffered an ankle injury during Monday's 27-13 victory over the Arizona Cardinals.

Stevenson seemingly sustained the ailment in the first half. He walked to the locker room early in the game but returned to the field shortly after. The second-year rusher was then ruled out for the remainder of the contest in the third quarter.

The 24-year-old entered Week 14 with a team-high 734 yards and four touchdowns on the ground this season. He carried the ball only three times for eight yards Monday.

The Patriots still ran the ball effectively versus Arizona, racking up 103 yards (4.9 per carry) and two touchdowns. First-year running back Pierre Strong led the team with 70 yards and one score on just five carries. Sixth-round rookie Kevin Harris added 33 yards and found the end zone for the first time in his NFL career in the first quarter.

Injuries have been an issue for New England's offense, as the AFC East club didn't have running back Damien Harris and receiver Jakobi Meyers against the Cardinals. Wideout DeVante Parker also left Monday's game early with a head injury.
