Hamilton residents are celebrating some big lottery wins this holiday season.

Cuong Khai Ha and Wei Yan of Hamilton recently claimed a Lotto Max Maxmillions prize of $1 million from the Oct. 11 draw.

The married couple said in an Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) new release they love to play Lotto Max.

They discovered their win after checking the ticket on the OLG app.

It's hard to describe the feeling - just happy," Yan said in the release.

This will make things less stressful for us," Khai Ha added.

The couple plans to save their winnings and pay off their mortgage. The winning ticket was purchased at Shell Select on Appleby Line in Burlington.

KENO WINNER

Also in a celebratory mood this season, Hamiltonian Berhane Eshe won $50,000 on his Daily Keno ticket from Oct. 25, plus an additional $100 on his Daily Keno 4 Pick.

Eshe, 63, checked his ticket in the store and was surprised by the result.

I told my wife and she said, Are you serious?'" he said in an OLG news release.

Eshe plans to do some home renovations.

It feels good," Berhane added.

The winning ticket was purchased at Mac's on Upper James Street.

INSTANT ULTIMATE WINNER

William Cripps of Hamilton is celebrating a $100,000 prize from Instant Ultimate.

Cripps, a 61-year-old grandfather, said in an OLG release he isn't a regular lottery player. But he decided to purchase a ticket after seeing the game odds.

When I played it at home, I couldn't believe it. I had to look at it five times before realizing I won," he said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings.

When he told his children about his big win, they couldn't believe it either, according to the release.

They said, No way - you're kidding me!'" Cripps added.

Cripps plans to help his daughter purchase a house with his winnings.

It feels good - just absolutely good!" he concluded.

Cripps' winning ticket was purchased at EZ Mart on Parkdale Avenue.
