Hamilton police are requesting the public's help identifying a man who was found dead in a wooded area near the Escarpment Rail Trail in November.

In a press release Friday, police said around 2 p.m. on Nov. 13, a resident noticed the body in a wooded area around 150 feet south of the trail, close to 21 Ben Lomond Pl.

The man had no identification on him and there have been no inquiries or missing person reports that match his profile, according to police.

His death is not believed to be suspicious, according to the release.

The man is described as white, between the ages of 25 and 40 years old, weighing around 180 pounds and standing approximately six feet tall.

He had short brown hair with a light-coloured thin beard and light-coloured eyes. He had dark staining on his teeth, a possible scar on his forehead and a possible piercing on his left nipple.

The man was found wearing a black baseball cap, a green and blue windbreaker, a blue zip-up sweater, a camouflage T-shirt, black jeans and hiking boots.

Police are asking anyone with information that could help identify the man to call Det. Const. Goran Zivkovic at 905-546-2406 or Det. Sgt. Candace Culp at 905-546-2907.

To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or submit tips online at crimestoppershamilton.com.
