Report: Eagles' Johnson out for regular season with abdominal injury

Philadelphia Eagles Pro Bowl tackle Lane Johnson is expected to miss the remainder of the regular season with a torn tendon in his abdominal area, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Eagles are reportedly hopeful that Johnson will be back for the postseason.

The veteran tackle suffered the injury in Saturday's 40-34 defeat to the Dallas Cowboys.

Johnson has started every game for the Eagles this season, and his play earned him the fourth Pro Bowl selection of his career. Philadelphia's offensive line has drawn praise this year, with the team averaging 153.8 rushing yards per game, fourth-best in the NFL.

The 32-year-old is the latest Pro Bowl player to be sidelined on the Eagles' offense after quarterback Jalen Hurts missed the Week 16 loss to the Cowboys with a shoulder strain. Hurts is reportedly uncertain for next week's matchup against the New Orleans Saints.

Cornerback Avonte Maddox is also out indefinitely after suffering a significant toe injury against Dallas, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo.

Head coach Nick Sirianni said he expects Maddox and Johnson to miss "a little bit of time" but didn't give a timetable for their return, according to Reuben Frank of NBC Sports.

Philadelphia holds the No. 1 spot in the NFC with a 13-2 record. The Eagles can lock up home-field advantage in the playoffs by winning one of their final two games.
