Maryland mother and son graduate from same university, 20 years after pledge

A Maryland mother and son have both just graduated from the same university - almost two decades after a pledge the pair made to complete their degrees together.

Immanuel Patton, 23, graduated alongside his mother, Carolyn, 63, last month from the University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) in Adelphi, on the outskirts of Baltimore.
