Police investigating source of ‘unsubstantiated’ King Street East threat
Hamilton police say they are investigating the source of an unsubstantiated" threat related to a King Street East mosque.
Police say officers received information about a potential threat at the mosque" and investigated Friday afternoon.
The threat was quickly investigated and concluded unsubstantiated by our officers," a police spokesperson said in an email Friday.
The nature of the threat remains unclear.
Police say they continue to investigate the source of the threat.
A stretch of King Street East between Sanford Avenue South and Burris Street was closed Friday afternoon for the investigation. Burris and Arthur Avenue South were also closed to southbound traffic.
Roads were closed around 2:30 p.m. and reopened less than an hour later.
