The New York Jets are mutually parting ways with offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur, head coach Robert Saleh said Thursday, according to SNY TV.

Saleh is allowing LaFleur to seek other opportunities with several teams inquiring about the coordinator's availability.

LaFleur served as the Jets' offensive coordinator for the last two seasons after coming from the San Francisco 49ers alongside head coach Robert Saleh in 2021. LaFleur served as the passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach while with the 49ers.

New York's offense struggled to put up points during LaFleur's tenure. The Jets averaged just 18.2 points per game in 2021 and 17.4 points per contest in 2022.

Inconsistent quarterback play hampered LaFleur's stint in New York. Former second overall pick Zach Wilson has failed to develop into a franchise signal-caller, leading to multiple benchings during the 2022 campaign.

The Jets have shuffled through various quarterbacks since 2021, including Wilson, Mike White, Joe Flacco, Josh Johnson, and Chris Streveler.
