Hamilton gets $1 million quarterly payment from OLG
The City of Hamilton received more than $1 million from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation in the third quarter of 2023 for hosting Elements Casino Flamboro.
The $1,020,624 payment for the Oct. 1 to Dec. 31 fiscal period was announced in a Jan. 18 press release.
Payments through OLG's Municipality Contribution Agreement provide host gaming communities with the support they need to fund programs and critical infrastructure to improve the lives of residents and families," Ontario Finance minister Peter Bethlenfalvy said in the release. With these revenues, municipalities are able to build better communities with more opportunities to live and work."
So far, during OLG's fiscal year, which runs from April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023, Hamilton has received $4,430,256.
Since the gaming site opened at Flamboro Downs in October 2000, Hamilton has received $99,561,427.
