One of Tom Brady's first big post-retirement moves will be helping to produce a series about Pro Football Hall of Fame coach and legendary broadcaster John Madden.

Brady, through his company 199 Productions, has been tapped to executive produce a limited series chronicling the life and career of Madden, according to Mike Fleming Jr. of Deadline. Madden's family said Brady's involvement was particularly important.

"I grew up admiring John Madden, first as a coach, then as a commentator," Brady said. "I loved John's passion for the game, especially his insatiable appetite for educating audiences about football. He welcomed fans with that warm smile, infectious laugh, and exceptional knowledge of the game, making everyone feel as if John were watching the broadcast right next to them on their living room sofa."

"(This is) the iconic story of a family man who revolutionized not only the game but the culture of football," Brady added.

The series will be directed by Gavin O'Connor and written by Alex Sohn. An episode count has yet to be determined.

Madden served as head coach of the then-Oakland Raiders from 1969-78, leading the franchise to seven division titles and its first Super Bowl title.

After retiring from coaching in 1979, he spent the next three decades calling NFL games across four different networks while also lending his name and voice to the popular Madden NFL video game series.

Madden died on Dec. 28, 2021, at the age of 85.
