The Carolina Panthers have hired Thomas Brown as their new offensive coordinator, the team announced Friday.

Brown was the Los Angeles Rams' assistant head coach last season and had been with the organization since 2020, working as the tight ends and running backs coach during his tenure.

The 36-year-old Brown interviewed for the Houston Texans head coaching job and the Washington Commanders, Los Angeles Chargers, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator roles.

Ben McAdoo wasn't retained as offensive coordinator when Frank Reich took over as head coach. The Panthers' offense ranked 29th in yards per game last season.

Reich is building an impressive staff in Carolina as Brown joins fellow assistants Ejiro Evero, Josh McCown, and Jim Caldwell.

The Atlanta Falcons selected Brown in the sixth round of the 2008 NFL Draft, and he spent three seasons in the NFL before becoming the strength and conditioning coach for Georgia in 2011.
