Blues trade O'Reilly, Acciari to Leafs for package including 1st-round pick
Ryan O'Reilly is headed to Toronto.
The St. Louis Blues traded their captain, along with veteran forward Noel Acciari, to the Maple Leafs, in exchange for a first-round pick, a second-round pick, a third-round pick, and forwards Mikhail Abramov and Adam Gaudette, the teams announced Friday.
The Blues will retain 50% of O'Reilly's cap hit. The Minnesota Wild are retaining an additional 25% and will receive a fourth-round pick from Toronto.
O'Reilly is in the final season of a seven-year contract that pays him $7.5-million annually, but his cap hit with Toronto will be $1.875 million with the retainments.
Acciari is also in the final year of his deal and carries a cap hit of $1.25 million.
