Grandson charged with first-degree murder in death of Waterford senior
Ontario Provincial Police have arrested the grandson of a Waterford homicide victim and charged him with first-degree murder.
Norfolk County OPP spokesperson Const. Ed Sanchuk announced the arrest in a video posted to Twitter, Feb. 18.
Sanchuk said officers with the crime unit, under the direction of the OPP criminal investigation branch, arrested the 34-year-old man, Feb. 17, in connection with the killing of 90-year-old Marlene Wilson last weekend.
Jordaine Anthony Lewis Wilson of Norfolk County was charged with first-degree murder.
He is scheduled to appear in court later Saturday.
Police found Wilson inside a Mechanic Street house after responding to a distress call around 8:20 a.m. on Feb. 12.
An autopsy on Feb. 14 confirmed she was victim of a homicide. Police have not released details, including cause of death.
The investigation is ongoing, Sanchuk said.
