Titans release Lewan after 9 seasons, also cut Woods, Bullock, Cunningham

The Tennessee Titans cut multiple veterans on Wednesday.

Tennessee is releasing offensive tackle Taylor Lewan, the team announced. Lewan spent his entire nine-year career with the Titans after being a first-round draft pick in 2014.

The 31-year-old thanked Titans fans on social media.

Lewan had a non-guaranteed salary of $14.8 million this season, and the release gives the Titans some cap relief. The gritty 31-year-old lineman has missed 30 games over the last three seasons due to injury.

The Titans also released veteran wide receiver Robert Woods, kicker Randy Bullock, and linebacker Zach Cunningham. The 30-year-old Woods seemingly reacted to the news on Twitter.

Woods was acquired by the Titans from the Los Angeles Rams last offseason for a sixth-round pick. He started all 17 games for Tennessee, hauling in two touchdowns and recording 527 receiving yards. The Titans save $12 million against the cap by releasing Woods.

Cunningham was claimed off waivers by the Titans midway through the 2021 season. He started 10 games for the Titans in two years, totaling 50 tackles.

Bullock played in 31 games with the Titans over the last two seasons. He made 84% of his field goals during his tenure.

The Titans cleared just under $38 million of cap space with these moves.
