Schools are closed and Hamilton, with much of southern Ontario, is recovering from Wednesday's icy winter storm.

Environment Canada issued a freezing drizzle warning for Hamilton through Thursday morning.

Periods of freezing drizzle with icy and slippery conditions are expected to continue through the day.

The inclement weather has caused hazardous conditions on the roads, resulting in cancellations and closures throughout the area Thursday.
