A new spot for authentic Thai cuisine has opened in the Hamilton Farmers' Market.

May's Thai Kitchen took to Instagram in late January to announce they'd be opening a stall in the downtown institution.

The restaurant, which launched in January 2021, started out as a virtual, delivery-based eatery. The stall, located on the lower level of the market, was up and running as of Feb. 16.

Their menu features dishes such as keng phed (Thai red curry), som tum (green papaya salad) and pad thai. They also offer Thai iced teas and Thai coconut jelly desserts, according to their menu.

The opening of the new restaurant comes amid the departure of several market stalls, such as Vinnie's Fresh Pasta Factory, No Bones Kitchen, Mystic Ramen and Mat Salleh, now known as Bank Robber.

The Hamilton Farmers' Market is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
