Report: Texans to sign Jimmie Ward to 2-year, $13M deal
by Brenden Deeg from on (#69S3F)
The Houston Texans are expected to sign defensive back Jimmie Ward, sources told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Ward is signing a two-year, $13-million contract, according to Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio.
Ward spent the first nine years of his career with the San Francisco 49ers.
The 31-year-old Ward played under Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans in San Francisco for the last six years. He played in only 12 games last season due to a broken hand.
Ward transitioned to nickel cornerback this season after Tashaun Gipson became the starting safety.
